Ironwood Maine Foundation
Dear members of the IW community,
As many of you know, we created the Ironwood Foundation one year ago in an effort to provide financial assistance to potential Ironwood families. We have some very exciting news---a grateful family of a recent Ironwood graduate has offered us a ‘challenge grant’ this holiday season. Their family foundation will match the first $20,000 that we raise from now until January 15th! That means that every $1 you give will actually bring in $2 for the Foundation and enable us to start providing financial aid to families who need our services but just can’t afford the full cost. Please consider adding the Ironwood Foundation to your year-end charitable gift giving plans.
Wes and I speak with so many families in crisis who want but are not able to send their child to Ironwood. It has always been a dream of ours to make the Ironwood experience accessible to any struggling family at their most critical time of need. You, families and relatives of our alumni, appreciate the important work that we do here on our beautiful campus in rural Maine. We hope that, if you are in a position to contribute, that you will consider this request. Gifts of any size to the Foundation are gratefully appreciated and will go directly to support families with tuition.
Additionally, we have created an advisory board of recent parents, graduates, and professionals in the field, to oversee the allocation of funds raised to help families in the most need of our services. We know that insurance and school districts rarely cover the full cost of Ironwood and that many parents sacrifice a great deal to get their child needed treatment. We will regularly provide general updates about the activities of the Foundation as it grows. Our hope it is able to help other families like yours.
Wes and Sue Horton
